Wall End Green

B9 - Grid reference SP114866

First Record 1759

Wall End Green is shown on Tomlinson's map of Little Bromwich manor in 1759. Situated on the southern boundary of the manor it is now the site of Belchers Lane Recreation Ground. The meaning of 'wall' is unclear, though the 'end' element shows it to be a site at the edge of the manor, and 'green' usually denoted open land over which local people often had rights of grazing.
